PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Playing at the Centre Court Tennis Club in Providence, R.I., the Merrimack College women's tennis team took down Providence College, 5-2, by winning five of the six singles flights against the Friars. The Warriors' record improved to 2-3 on the year while Providence dropped to 0-5.
Sophomore
Mikaela Johnson Campana won at second doubles and at fifth singles to complete at 2-0 day. Four of Merrimack's six singles wins occurred in straight sets.

- Providence did start the day by winning the doubles point, claiming the first and third flights. Johnson Campana paired with junior Kristina Calistro at the second flight, where Merrimack picked up its lone win. The duo triumphed by a 6-4 margin
- In singles, sophomore Allyson Nerf set the tone with a two-set victory at No. 2. The Boca Raton, Fla. native won both of her sets against Providence's second option by 6-3 margins. Junior Rosemary Campanella prevailed at No. 3, and Johnson Campana earned her singles victory at No. 4, winning her first set by a 6-3 score and her second by a 6-4 margin
- Freshman Nikala Tuffanelli appeared at fifth singles for Merrimack, and won by identical set scores as Campana (6-3, 6-4). Junior Hope Salts rounded out the team's singles lineup at No. 6, and won both of her sets in tiebreakers. Salts earned a win, 7-6 (8), in her opening game before winning her second-set tiebreaker by five points to close out the match, 7-6 (2)
