WORCESTER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team fell in three sets to the Holy Cross Crusaders on Wednesday night.

Set Breakdown:
- Merrimack started the opening set even with Holy Cross, with kills from Sydney Green and Maegan Hladick leading the charge. A 10-1 run by the Crusaders pushed the hosts ahead to capture the opening set.
- Midway through the second set, the Warriors charged for a 6-2 run, with a pair of service aces to bring it to an 11-10 set. Despite Merrimack's effort, Holy Cross closed out the second with a 25-17 final.
- The Warriors had a game-best ten kills in the final set, taking an opening 5-3 lead. Merrimack kept pace through the middle of the set to keep the score at 18-13 for the Crusaders, before the Warriors made a final three-point push before the set closed out.
Notes & Notables
- Brooke Leestma led the contest with 31 total attempts for the contest, to lead all competitors in the game.
- Sydney Green led the squad with seven kills, with Leestma and Hladick finishing behind her with six as Merrimack totaled 23 kills on the night.

Merrimack will compete in the Harvard Invitational, taking on Austin Peay in Cambridge on Friday, Sept. 3 before facing Marist and Harvard on Saturday, Sept. 4.
