HANOVER, N.H. – The Merrimack College field hockey team was defeated by a 5-0 final Sunday afternoon by Dartmouth at Chase Field.  

A goal 2:21 into the game by the Big Green stood up to be the winner, as it held the Warriors off the scoreboard in the win.

Rapid Recap
  • The hosts found the back of the net just over two minutes in to find an early lead, but Riley Brown came up with a save for Merrimack in the opening 15 minutes to keep the deficit at one.
  • Another goal early in the second quarter pushed the Dartmouth lead to two and Brown had another stop in the quarter to make it 2-0 at the halftime break.
  • The third quarter proved to be the difference maker in the game. The Warriors had a penalty corner and shot during the 15 minutes, but the Big Green struck for a trio of goals to all but put the game away.
  • The Warriors generated some momentum in the final 15 minutes of the game with two shots, including their first shot on goal off the stick of Katelyn Bennett.
