NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team pushed the Central Connecticut Blue Devils throughout the match, coming up short in Thursday's match.

Set Breakdown:
- Merrimack opened the match with a kill by Kara Haase, with five of the first seven points for the Warriors coming from kills. Central Connecticut sprang for seven straight points, but the offense continued with kills notched by Haase, Brooke Leestma and Maegan Hladick. The visitors again went on an offensive run to take the first set.
- Central Connecticut started with five points out of the gate for the set, before Megan Rumenapp notched back-to-back kills to get the Warriors back in it. The Blue Devils set the pace with points, taking the second set.
- The Warriors posted a team-best 12 kills in the third set, taking a lead with offensive daggers from three Hladick kills and an attack error forced by a Kayla Zinser block. Central Connecticut doubled down, re-taking the lead at 15-11. Teams swapped points, with Haase, Leestma and Rumenapp gaining momentum for the Warriors. Challenging the defense, Central pulled ahead to win the third set.
Notes & Notables
- Megan Rumenapp continued in her role as a potent offense generator, leading the team with 15 assists on the night.
- In her return, Sophie Meyers posted a block and a kill, competing in all three sets for the Warriors.
