BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's tennis program started its fall season in convincing fashion with a win over Babson 6-3.

- Merrimack won the doubles point back-to-back flights to start the day. Upperclassmen Kristina Calistro and Allyson Nerf got the Warriors started winning a dominant set 8-1. Then the rest of the team followed suit as Mikaela Johnson Campana and Dzastina Mikhanova battled through and came out on top with an 8-6 victory.
- After dropping the first singles flight, the Warriors didn't look back as they did not lose a single set again.
- The Boca Raton, Fla. native, Nerf, grinded through her first game, but eventually came out on top 7-5. She then made quick work of Babson's, Juliette Moschella, in the second set to take the second point for Merrimack.
- Junior, Mikaela Johnson Campana, had a very impressive day as she only gave up three total games, winning the flight by scores of 6-1 and 6-2.
- Rosemary Campanella, battled off her opponent in the first set, but eventually taking it by a score of 6-4. She then took advantage and took the second set in clean fashion, 6-2.
- Fresh off her doubles victory, Mikhanova, started off slow in her singles match. After falling behind, she prevailed to win the match by scores of 6-4 and 6-3
- Senior, Hope Salts, wrapped the day up in an impressive way as she dropped her first set 3-6, but then bounced back sweeping the next set 6-0 to give Merrimack the victory.

Merrimack will return to action in a couple of weeks as they head to Beverly, Mass. to take on Endicott.
