Rapid Recap
- The sides played an exceptionally even opening 15 minutes of play. Merrimack had one shot on goal and a penalty corner, while Brown had a corner of its own and fired a pair of shots on Riley Brown, who turned aside both.
- The senior goalkeeper put together an amazing 15 minutes in the second quarter, as she kicked out all five shots that reached her, which gave the offense a chance to shine. On the Warriors' lone penalty corner of the quarter, Anne-Sophie Hogenboom inserted to Spallone at the top of the arc. She opened up and ripped a low shot towards goal that hit a Brown defender and originally appeared to go straight in, but Bennett quickly tapped it towards goal for her first career tally.Â
- Brown turned up the pressure after the halftime break and eventually broke through for the equalizer just over eight minutes into the third.
- Merrimack's Brown continued to battle in net in the second half and had nine saves in the closing half hour, but the Bears were too much in the end and snuck home the game-winner with 7:34 to play.
