How It Happened
- Opening the contest, Alina Mueller got the Huskies on the board in the opening minute. She would add her second of the contest on the power play late in the frame to end the first with a 2-0 lead for the hosts.
- Merrimack looked like it halved the deficit as Dominika Laskova darted into the zone unmarked on the nearside boards. As she cut towards the goal line, she threw the puck in front where both Emily Oosterveld and Raice Szott sat ready to cash in on a loose puck. Szott deflected the puck in, but the play was called back on a review for offsides.
- After the Warriors were held off the score sheet, Northeastern jumped for three goals in 1:50 with two even strength and one on the power play to boost the hosts' lead.
- In the third period, Northeastern tacked on late with three goals in the final seven minutes of the period for the final mark, with one shorthanded, one even strength and one on the power play.
