Loretto, Pa. – The Merrimack College field hockey team lost a Northeast Conference matchup on Friday afternoon against Saint Francis University, 3-2.
Lauren Burke and
Abby Allen were the goal scorers for the Warriors in the loss.

- The Red Flash scored the first goal of the game, just over four minutes into the first quarter, taking an early lead. At the end of the first Saint Francis added another goal to go up by two. Allen had back-to-back shots saved by the Red Flash goalkeeper a couple minutes into the second quarter. Lily Johnson launched a shot towards the net, the shot was saved by a Saint Francis defender. In the 28th minute, Burke scored the first goal of the game for the Warriors, cutting the lead to one. Merrimack went into halftime down one. In the 33rd minute, Allen found the back of the net to tie the game at two. The Red Flash scored two minutes into the fourth period, taking back the lead. Erica Spallone had a shot in the 58th minute that was saved by the goalkeeper.

The Warriors get back to action on Sunday when Sacred Heart comes to town for senior day. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
