Records: Merrimack (4-2) | Duquesne (1-5)

How It Happened
  • The Dukes scored a touchdown on their first possession of the afternoon, going up by a score. The Warriors responded by going on an 18-play drive that took up the rest of the first quarter. The drive concluded with a Wadley touchdown run. The score was Wadley's first in a Merrimack uniform. After a forced punt by the Warrior defense, Gavin McCusker was picked off by Duquesne, giving them the ball on their own 40-yard line. The Dukes would score on that drive, going up a touchdown. Merrimack got the ball back and went on a 15-play drive that finished with a Dawson nine-yard touchdown run. The score was his fourth of the season. The half concluded with the score tied a 14.
  • Back-to-back punts opened up the third quarter. An additional two punts got the third quarter to just over seven minutes left in the quarter. McCusker then found Fisher for a 20-yard touchdown pass to go up by seven. On the Warriors next defensive possession James Nyamwaya broke through the line and caused a fumble by the Dukes quarterback that was recovered by Merrimack. On the first play from scrimmage, Dowson ran 18-yards into the end zone, giving the Warriors a two-score lead. Duquesne scored right before the end of the quarter to cut the advantage down to seven. Both teams were led scoreless in the fourth quarter, giving Merrimack a seven-point win, their third in a row.
