AMESBURY, Mass. – Merrimack College women's hockey sophomore defenseman,
Hayley Chang, was named the Hockey East Defender of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
She notched two goals in the Warriors' win Saturday night against New Hampshire to earn the weekend split between the two teams. The Coquitlam, British Columbia native would score her first goal as a Warrior on a power-play less than six minutes into the final period. In overtime the Warriors
would not be denied as a mad scramble in front saw the puck end up on Chang's stick who scored her second of the game and career and win the game for the Warriors.
The Warriors stay home to play two games against Vermont this week on Thursday the 17th and Friday the 18th.
