Men's Basketball Defeated by Bradley, Saturday

PEORIA, IL. – The Merrimack College men's basketball team was defeated by Bradley University on Saturday afternoon, 83-41. Jordan Derkack was the lone Warriors in double figures with 13 points. He also had five rebounds. Devon Savage added six points for the bench after knocking down two threes. Both Ziggy Reid and Jordan McKoy finished the game with five points.

Rapid Recap
  • After a Bradley basket to start the game, Reid knocked down a three to give the Warriors a one-point lead. The Braves then added eight point to go up seven. McKoy hit a three to bring the lead back down to four. Bradley added five point to make the lead nine. Derkack scored on a layup to slice the advantage to seven. The Braves added another five points, going up 12. Another Derkack layup got it back down to 10. With just over three minutes to go until halftime Bradley scored 11 unanswered point to go up 21. After a few buckets at the end of the half the Braves were up 26 with a minute to go. The Warriors answered by ending the half on a seven-point run to go into halftime down 19.
  • Mykel Derring opened the second half with his first three of the game. Bradley then added seven points to go up 23. Both teams traded buckets, with 13 minutes to play Merrimack was still down by 23. A Javon Bennett jumper with 11 minutes to play put the Warriors down 22. The Braves then jumped on a 15-0 run to go up 37. The lead ended up being too much for the Warriors as the final buzzer sounded.
