The Merrimack Warriors women's hockey team hung tough but fell short as they were defeated by the Providence College Friars by a score of 4–2 at the Schneider Arena in Providence.

The Warriors got off the perfect start as Alexa Pongo got on the board first on the power-play as she jammed home the puck in front of the net at 5:53 of the first period.
Providence would tie the game less than three minutes later.
In the second, It was Alexa Pongo again as she took the Payten Evans pass, and used her speed, deep to the goaltender and put it in on her back and to give the Warriors back to lead at 7:27 of the period.
Six minutes later, the game was tied up again as Providence scored, and then they would take the lead for good just over three minutes after that.
Providence added one more goal in the third period to finish the game out.
Notes and Numbers:
Alexa Pongo scored twice and set a new career high in points with eight on the year so far.
Payten Evans, Katie Kaufman, and Allison Reeb all had one assist each on the night.
Calli Hogarth made 23 saves in the loss.
