LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – The Merrimack College women's basketball team dropped its first-ever matchup with the University of Southern California on Saturday night.
Marissa Hamilton was the lone Warrior in double figures with 17 points.
Ava Owens had five points and two rebounds.
Jayme DeCesare scored five points in the loss.

- After the first three minutes, Merrimack found themselves down by two after a Hamilton jumper. The Trojans then added four points to go up by six. With five minutes to go in the first quarter USC was up 10. Hamilton hit a jumper to cut the lead to eight. The advantage was 13 heading into the second quarter. Molly Manion scored on a layup to cut the lead to 14 early in the second quarter. The Trojans then went on an 11-point run, sending them up 25. DeCesare knocked down a three with a minute to play in the half getting the lead down to 24 points. The deficit was 26 at the half.
- After three points from USC to open the second half, Hamilton hit a three to bring the lead back to 26. Both teams then traded buckets back and forth for two minutes. The Trojans then scored eight straight to go up 36. Alana Fursman hit a jumper with a minute to play in the third. Hamilton started off the fourth quarter with a three. She then hit another a few minutes later. USC finished the game on a 14-0 run.

- Jada Powell led the Warriors with five rebounds.
- Owens went a perfect 2-2 from the free throw line.
- Merrimack had five second chance points.
