HAVERHILL, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's tennis team had a bounce back performance this Sunday when they played the Sacred Heart University Pioneers from the Cedardale Health and Fitness Center. In what was a convincing performance from start to finish the Warriors pulled away with this one by a final tally of 6-1.
The Warriors were once again led by sophomore,
Jan Semerak, who has picked up from his successes this past spring as he has now won four straight matches, including one doubles match and another singles match against SHU.

- Starting things off in the first doubles contest, Semerak and senior, Jonathan Garcia, starting the match just the way they wanted as they got off to an early 3-0 lead and then finished off the Pioneers winning the match 6-2 to capture the point. In doubles #2 it was time for senior, Conrad Koch, and freshman, Keita Duclos, turn to take the court and they did not disappoint. The duo found themselves in a 1-1 score in the match before eventually winning 6-2.
- On the singles side of things Semerak continued his hot streak in a conclusive two match sweep, winning the first set 6-3 and the second set 6-4. In singles #2, Garcia saw his opponent give him a run for his money, but he battled his way to earn the point by scores of 6-4 and 6-4. In singles #3, senior, Andre Singer, unfortunately could not finish the match as the game was retired in the second set. Singles #4 saw freshman, Valentin Riveros scrap and claw his way to a victory. The Miami, F.L. native won the first set 6-3 and then dropped the second by a score of 6-1 to set up the deciding third set. Things were tied up at 2-2 before Riveros ran away with this one 6-3 capturing the point for Merrimack. Doubles #5 included freshman, Henrik Lindeman, who ended up in a situation very similar to his classmate Riveros. He won the opening set 6-3, dopped the second set 6-4 and then clutched the third set to secure another point for the Warriors. In the final singles matchup freshman, Charles Robertson, swept his opponent in short order winning by scores of 6-3 and 6-3.
