NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Juan Carlos Portilla won in three sets at No. 4 singles, but the Merrimack men's tennis team lost to Quinnipiac 6-1 on Wednesday.
Portilla dropped the first set 6-1, but came back to win the next two 6-2, 6-3. Portilla and Stahinja Djukic were tied 4-4 at No. 2 doubles, but the match was unfinished due to Quinnipiac clinching the doubles point.
Ludolph Wiggett won the first set at No. 3 doubles 6-4, but dropped the match in three sets.
Merrimack returns to action Friday at Holy Cross at 4 p.m.
