Rapid Recap
- The doubles bracket started off with a matchup featuring Bhatia and Garcia who took on Adrian Pawlowski and Johann Sajon in a back-and-forth match from start to finish. The Warriors took the first two sets to take a 2-0 lead and then BU battled right back taking the next three from Merrimack. Both sides went blow for blow before Bhatia and Garcia capped off the win for Merrimack 7-6.
- The second doubles match included Semerak and Alec Makay Rodriguez for Merrimack against Gabe Brown and Jonah Dickson for BU. The Warriors got followed suit to their teammates in the first match getting going up 4-1 to start. BU then came storming back winning four points right back before both teams traded points. In the end though, the Warriors were just too much for the Terriers in this matchup as they won the set 7-5.
- In the third doubles match freshman, Henrik Lindeman, and classmate, Valentin Riveros, took on Dion Loutas and Jose Robalino. In what seemed to be almost a carbon to the first match of the day, this one went the distance with no one leading by more than two points the entire time. In the end though, the Warriors came out on top by a score of 7-6 to get the doubles point for Merrimack.
- In the singles bracket now, the opening match saw Semerak take on Loutas and in this matchup, it was all Merrimack. The Teplice nad Metuji, Czech Republic native lost the opening set, but then never looked back as he won the match 6-1 winning the point for Merrimack.
- The next matchup in singles saw the Warriors Bhatia battle with the Terriers Brown. This matchup was a bit closer than the first match, and once again saw BU take an early lead going up 2-1. After going down though, it was all Bhatia and he didn't look back winning another Warrior point.
- In the third singles match the Warriors had a chance to clinch the victory and it was all in the hands of Johnathon Garcia. The Dublin, Ireland native fell to what seemed to be an insurmountable going down 4-0, but he scratched and clawed his way back into the contest winning six of the next seven sets. With the match tied six to six, Garcia dug deep and captured the match victory which propelled Merrimack to victory over Boston University.
