Mahoney Makes Top-10 at New England Championships

BOSTON, M.A. – Over the weekend, the Merrimack women's track and field team competed in the New England Championships. The event was scheduled to be held over two days at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, but due to the weather conditions, the Warriors elected to compete on day two only. As a result, the team was only allowed to appear in select events, but were still able to make their mark.

Results:

 

• Once again, Ava Mahoney shined amongst tough competition. She earned a PR in the 3000m (10:22.14), which was strong enough for 8^th overall and puts her 3^rd in school history in the event.
• Samantha LiPetri finished 10^th overall in the mile (5:21.06)
• Carla Bouchrouche, Kaleigh Lane, Samantha LiPetri, and Emma Faivre finished 9^th overall in the 4x400m relay (4:05.47)

 
Up Next:
Next weekend, members of the women's track and field team will compete in two different events. Some athletes will compete in the annual David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University, and others will head to Middlebury, V.T.
