PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Merrimack College women's tennis team took the court against the Providence College Friars Friday afternoon from the Providence College Tennis Courts. The Warriors dominated their way through Doubles winning all three matches to capture the doubles point. In the end though, the Friars were just too much in singles play as they took this one 5-2.
The Warriors were led by senior,
Rosemary Campanella, who battled her way through her singles match and then winning the point. In doubles she dominated alongside partner,
Dhzastina Mikhnova, winning the match 6-2.

- The Warriors gave it their all-in doubles eventually coming away with the doubles point winning all three matches. Merrimack quickly made their way through the doubles match ups, securing all three doubles points right away. Finishing first was Kristina Calistro and Allyson Nerf, rolling over the competition with a 6-1 victory. Quickly following their win, Campanella and Mikhnova beat the Friars 6-2 bringing Merrimack their second victory and the overall doubles point, putting the team up 1-0. Last to finish in doubles was Nikala Tuffanelli and Mikaela Johnson Campana; who secured the 6-4 victory.
- After a strong doubles performance, the team had momentum going into singles. While a well fought battle from top to bottom of the lineup, the Warriors could not secure enough points to win the match. Securing a singles point in straight sets for the Warriors was Campanella. She quickly made strides in her games, securing the first set 6-3. After an evenly matched second set, the senior won and secured a singles point in a grueling second set tiebreak (7-4).
