LUBBOCK, TEXAS – The Merrimack College baseball team ended its four-game series with Texas Tech University on Sunday afternoon, losing 12-4.
Ben Nelson led the Warriors, going 3-4 on the afternoon, which improved his batting average to .333.
Michael Golankiewicz had two hits and a RBI for Merrimack in the defeat.

- The Red Raiders jumped out to a two-run advantage in the first inning. In the third, the Warriors got a one out single from Scott Elliott. The Merrimack center fielder got to second on a wild pitch, putting the first runner in scoring position on the day. Haba was then hit by a pitch for the second time of the afternoon, putting runners on first and second. The Warriors failed to get either across home plate. Texas Tech added a run in the third to take a three-run lead. In the fourth, Andrew Selima drew a two out free pass. Thomas Crowley then singled, advancing Selima to second. In the next at bat, Nelson singled to center, brining home Selima, making the score 3-1. Warrior starter Wyatt Villella had a shut down fourth inning, not allowing any runs.
- With one out in the sixth, Haba doubled, giving the Warriors their third runner in scoring position on the afternoon. Two batters later, Golankiewicz singled through the left side of the infield to pull the Warriors within one run. The Red Raiders responded by added seven runs in the bottom half of the fifth. Merrimack added its two final runs in the seventh. Elliott drew a walk to lead off the inning and then got to second on a wild pitch. Haba grounded out, but got Elliot to third. Braydon Dolbashian reached base on a throwing error, which scored Elliott. Later in the inning, Bryant Skurbe singled to get the rally back on track. Selima doubled in Skurbe on the next at bat to give the Warriors four runs on the afternoon.
