ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College baseball team suffered a loss on Wednesday afternoon against the University of Maine, 7-5. Kurtis Stadnicki was the only Warrior with double digit hits with two. The Concord native also had a RBI on the afternoon. Christian Gemelli, Scott Elliott and Bryant Skurbe also had RBI for Merrimack in the defeat. Jack Collins threw two and a third innings of hitless baseball to keep the game close for the Warriors.

- The Black Bears struck first in the top of the first after a fielder's choice scored a run. In the second inning, Merrimack starter Vin Zappulla left a runner stranded on first. Stadnicki doubled with one out in the bottom half of the third inning. He was left in scoring position at the end of the inning. Gemelli drew a walk to lead off the fourth inning. Elliott then walked to put two runners on. Both were left on base.
- Maine added six runs in the top of the fifth to take a seven run lead. Ben Nelson earned a free pass as the first batter of the fifth. Stadnicki then singled, putting two runners on. Tiernan Lynch walked to load up the bases. Gemelli drew a walk, which scored a run and put Merrimack on the board. Just like the inning before, Braydon Dolbashian earned a free pass to lead off the inning. Elliott then followed up with a walk of his own to put two runners on again. Nelson walked a batter later to load up the bases. Stadnicki reached on a fielder's choice, scoring a runner from third. A wild pitch a couple batters later scored another run for Merrimack, pulling them within four. Gemelli led off the seventh with a single. Dolbashian then walked to add a runner to the base path. Elliott then doubled to score one. The next batter was Skurbe and he reached on a fielder's choice, scoring another run and cutting the Black Bear advantage to two. Shut down innings by both bullpens made the game end in a 7-5 final score
