HARTFORD, CONN. – The Merrimack College baseball team charged late, boosted by a three-run home run by
Michael Golankiewicz in the eighth inning, but fell in a midweek morning tilt against the University of Hartford on Tuesday.

- Hartford scored in the bottom of the first with a three-run home run to left scoring two on from a single and walk for the Hawks. A pair of singles to center put runners on, before a ball through the left side brought in the fourth run of the inning for Hartford.
- The Warriors got their first run of the day in the second inning. With two outs, Michael Golankiewicz sent a ball to left and advanced to second on an error by the outfielder. Kurtis Stadnicki singled to right center on an 0-2 count to score Golankiewicz from second.
- In the third, the Hawks added a pair of runs to add to their lead. The leadoff hitter singled to center, advancing to third on a single to left for runners on the corners. The runner from first advanced to second on a wild pitch as both came in to score with a single from center to put six on the board for Hartford. Another run scored in the fifth for the hosts before a pair came across home for the final runs for Hartford in the seventh inning.
- Merrimack loaded the bases in the top of the eighth with a walk, hit by pitch and walk. Braydon Dolbashian sent a sacrifice fly to left to score one run before Golankiewicz drove a three run home run to right to clear the bases for the Warriors.
- Golankiewicz, Stadnicki and Andrew Selima all went 2-for-4 on the day for Merrimack in the non-conference tilt. Â
