NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College field hockey suffered its second loss of the season on Sunday afternoon against La Salle University.
Meghan McCarthy scored the lone goal for the Warriors in a 3-1 defeat. Goalkeeper
Isabelle Gardiner had four saves in the game.

- Eight minutes into the game, McCarthy scored the first goal of the game for the Warriors putting them up 1-0. La Salle responded with a goal six minutes after evening the game at one. Late in the first quarter, Erica Spallone launched a shot towards the net that was saved by the Explorer goalkeeper. Heading into halftime the Warriors were tied 1-1 with the Explorers.
- Just under a minute into the fourth quarter, Julie Wester firing a shot wide. With three minutes left in the game, La Salle scored their second goal and a minute later added another goal ending the game with a loss for the Warriors.

- La Salle had the most penalty corners then Merrimack had (9-3). La Salle also had the most shots in the game then Merrimack (14-3).

Merrimack get back to action on the road Friday evening when they head up to Burlington to play against the University of Vermont. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
