Storrs, Conn- The Merrimack Warriors Women's Ice Hockey scored twice in third period but were unable to complete the comeback as they fell to the UConn Huskies by a score of 4-2 on Friday evening.
Merrimack (7-16-1, 4-12-1 HEA): 2, UConn Huskies (14-8-2, 8-7-2): 4
UConn took the lead with under four minutes to play in the first period.

In the second period, UConn would score a second goal to make the score 2-0.

UConn scored their third in the third period, just under three minutes in.

The Warriors would fire themselves back into the contest when
Sophie McKinley scored her first NCAA goal unassisted on the powerplay.

Merrimack would get a second just 32 seconds later when
Hannah Corneliusen would score to cut the lead to one.

The Warriors push to tie came up short as the Huskies would score their fourth in the final minute of the third period.
