Women's Soccer Scores Four Unanswered, Wins NEC Regular Season Championship

Long Island, N.Y.—The Merrimack Warriors Women's soccer team scored four goals in the final 20 minutes, completing the comeback with a thrilling 4-2 victory over the LIU Sharks to capture the Northeast Conference regular season championship on a sunny Thursday afternoon in Long Island.

Merrimack controlled play in the first half but were unable to score in the first 45 minutes as the game entered halftime scoreless.

LIU scored twice in just over 90 seconds to take a two goal lead.

Isabella Keogh fired the Warriors back into the match after making slick move in the 18 yard box, beating her defender and tucking it bottom corner.

Isabella Keogh would score again with eight minutes to play, as Caroline Howland would play through Ella Cormier would slide the ball over and Keogh would finish to equalize the score.

Jillian Golden would complete the comeback in the final two minutes as she slammed home the rebound from close range to take a 3-2 lead and put the Warriors back on top of the conference table.

Isabella Keogh would complete her hat trick only 20 seconds later, and add the insurance goal scoring top corner to put the exclamation point on the win and the regular season title.
