Men's Soccer Battle On Long Island Results in 2-2 Tie

LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK  – The Merrimack College Men's Soccer Team tied LIU in a road NEC matchup Sunday afternoon.

Records: LIU (4-4-3, 1-0-2), Merrimack (3-4-2, 1-1-1)

Rapid Recap
Merrimack kicked off the scoring in this road contest with a boot from Juri Schlingmann at the 19:16 mark. Laurie Goddard provided the assist on the first Warrior goal. LIU was able to knot it up right before the half. 
LIU was able to go up with a goal at the 65th minute mark of the second. All hope looked lost and it seemed like Merrimack would be leaving New York with a conference loss. However, it was Johan Fielscher feeding Juri Schlingmann as he secured his second goal of the game. Schlingmann tied the game up at two a piece in the 83rd minute. The game finished tied up as the two teams were unable to score in the final minutes of the match.
