ORONO, MAINE – The Merrimack College men's basketball team took down the University of Maine on Sunday night.
Adam "Budd" Clark was the leading scorer for the Warriors with 19 points.
Samba Diallo had 14 points and six rebounds in the victory.
Devon Savage was the third Merrimack player in double figures with 11 points.

- After no scoring for the first two minutes of the game, Maine broke through with two made free throws. Jordan Derkack would answer with a layup to tie the game at two. Derkack and Savage would combine for four points to put the Warriors up four. With 12 minutes to play in the first half, Jaylen Stinson drove the lane for a layup, to increase the lead to five. With just over eight minutes to play, Savage would find the bottom of the net with a three to swell the Warrior advantage to eight. The Black Bears would battle back to cut the lead to just one with two minutes to go before halftime. After giving Maine the lead by one, Savage hit another three with a minute to play, putting Merrimack up two. A late Black Bear three would send them into halftime up by one.
- Maine would just on the Warriors early in the second half, going up quickly by five. Back-to-back jumpers from Bryan Etumnu and Diallo would decrease the lead to one. Both teams then battled back and forth. With 13 minutes to go, Stinson knocked down a jumper to put Merrimack up one. Jordan McKoy would find the bottom of the net with a three to make the lead three. The Warriors found themselves up by one with nine minutes to go in the game. Clark would hit a jumper to send Merrimack up three. After both teams traded buckets for a number of minutes, Clark would convert on an and one layup to swell the lead to four. Some good free throw shooting down the stretch would give the Warriors a six-point win.

- Merrimack shot 68% from the field in the second half.
