NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack College Women's Basketball team claimed a hard fought victory over Bryant on their home floor.

The Warriors came in without a win and Bryant had three under their belt. The Warriors took the lead early and were up after a low scoring first quarter 12-9. The second quarter saw the Bulldogs take advantage early but it was the Warriors storming back after going down 17-14 and pushing the lead to twelve at 29-17. They would go into the half up 31-19 behind the stellar play of their youngsters.
The second half commenced with a good three point bucket for Bryant. The Bulldogs would inch closer throughout the third and cut into the Merrimack advantage but the Warriors still led going into the final frame but just by seven. The fourth quarter was closer than close. Nail Biting until the very end. Bryant was able to cut the lead to only one at 59-58. However, the Warriors defense stiffened and only allowed one more point in the game and it was the veteran, Jayme DeCesare, icing the game behind two clutch free throws to claim the win 65-60.
