Boston, MA—The Merrimack College Women's Ice Hockey team tied the game late, but were defeated by the Boston University Terriers in overtime by a score of 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Walter Brown Arena.
Merrimack scored first for the second time this weekend as
Celine Tedenby potted her sixth of the year just under eight minutes into the second period of play, but the Terriers would fire back, tying the game and then taking the 2-1 lead before the end of the period.
In the third period,
Sophie McKinley would get the Warriors back on level terms but Boston University would puut themselves right back in front with a goal just 67 seconds later. Merrimack however, refused to give as
Mary Edmonds would score with only 12 seconds to play and would send the game into overtime in the process.
Boston University would win the game just under two minutes into the extra frame.
