Charleston, S.C. – The Merrimack Women's Softball team was shutout in their season opener vs Charleston Southern College this evening in the first of two games the teams will play this weekend.
The Warriors went scoreless in the first before Charleston Southern got on the board first with an RBI two out double.
In the third inning, the Warriors had their best opportunity the evening as
Caity Lemay doubled to lead off the inning but the Warriors would fail to capitalize on the chance.
Charleston would add two more runs in the game, scoring once in the fifth and sixth inning respectively to close out the evening's proceedings.
Notes and numbers:
Despite the loss,
Bry Michitson went all six innings allowing three hits and striking out three.
Caity Lemay and
Sofia Palyan each got hits in the loss.

The Warriors look for the weekend split when they face Charleston Southern in a return matchup on Sunday at 12 PM.
