Baseball Clinches NEC Series Victory in Win Over Delaware State

Dover, DE-- The Merrimack College Baseball team beat Delaware State University on Sunday afternoon to win two of three in the series this weekend.

• The scoring for the Warriors got going in the second after Braydon Dolbashian reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Christian Gemelli and giving the Warriors an early lead. Ben Nelson then doubled down then left field line, scoring two runs, increasing the lead to three. Christian Scanlon then scored later in the inning on a wild pitch. Alex Haba then singled home Nelson, putting Merrimack up five at the end of the second. The Hornets scored a run in the bottom of the second to cut the lead to four. In the third, Michael Golankiewicz scored on a wild pitch bringing the lead back up to five. Matthew Chatelle singled to left, scoring one in the fourth. Delaware State added a run in the bottom of the fifth to go down five. Golankiewicz tried home Gemelli in the bottom of the seventh. Dolbashian then also tripled later in the inning, scoring another run for Merrimack.
