Lowell, MA- The Merrimack Women's Softball team split their two games against the University of Massachusetts-Lowell Riverhawks on Wednesday afternoon, winning game one 6-1 and falling in game two, 12-0.

Game 1:
The Riverhawks opened the scoring the opening run on a sacrifice fly, but the Warriors would fire right back, as the Warriors would load the bases up and
Sydney Shinopulos would score
Madie Fornwalt would score the tying run with a single, one batter later the Warriors would take the lead with a
Madison Metcalf single, keeping the bases loaded.
Courtney Lanpher would keep the momentum going scoring Shinopulos.
Sydney Samuel would break the game open soon after with a two run single scoring
Ellen Hubbard and Metcalf to compete the five run inning. The Warriors would score one more run in fourth inning as
Sofia Palyan scored Lanpher on a groundout.

Notes and Numbers:
Game 2:
Lowell took the lead in the second inning after scoring two runs, before scoring seven runs in the third inning. Â Lowell would add three more runs in the fourth inning and the game would finish in the fifth inning as the mercy rule was reached.
