SALISBURY, MD – The Merrimack College baseball dropped its first game of its three-game series with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Friday afternoon, 6-5.

Frankie Ferrentino got the scoring going for the Warriors in the top of the first with a double to center that scored two runners, giving Merrimack an early lead. The Hawks battled back in the second and third inning, scoring four runs and going up by two.
Christian Gemelli reached on an error with the bases loaded, scoring a runner from third in the top of the fifth. The Warriors now found themselves down just one. In the top of the ninth Ferrentino laced another double, this time to left, scoring two runs and giving Merrimack a one-run advantage heading into the bottom of the ninth. Maryland Eastern Shore was able to scrape two runs across home plate in the bottom half of the ninth to giving them an early 1-0 series lead.

Michael Golankiewicz and Ferrentino were the only three players to get hits for the Warriors. All three had two hits.
Ferrentino finished with a career-high four RBI's.
