Hampton VA-- The Merrimack College Warriors Baseball team was swept this past weekend by the Monmouth Hawks in a three game set in Hampton Virginia.

Game 1:
Monmouth: 18, Merrimack: 4
Monmouth started the game with a five run first inning and a ten run second, before the Warriors got on the board in the bottom half, as two runs crossed the plate on a throwing error. Monmouth added two more runs in the third. Merrimack scored their third run as
Christian Gemelli scored
Michael Golankiewicz with a single. Golankiewicz would score the Warriors final run of the afternoon with a sac fly in the fifth.

Game 2:
Monmouth: 10, Merrimack: 7

In Game 2, Merrimack jumped out to the lead in the second when
Ben Nelson scored the games first run on a double to center, in the third the Warriors extended the Warriors lead to three, as
Alex Haba knocked in two with a double to left. Monmouth grabbed the lead in the bottom half with a five run inning. The Warriors however would tie the game back up in the fifth with Haba doubling and Golankiewicz singling home a run each, but Monmouth would retake the lead in the bottom half of the fifth. In the seventh, Merrimack would cut the lead back to one as Christan Scanlon scored Gemelli and Golankiewicz with a single, but Monmouth would score two more in the eighth to close out the game.

Game 3:
Monmouth: 8, Merrimack: 5
In Game 3, Merrimack scored the games first runs as Golankiewicz and Gemelli both doubled home runs in the fourth to put the Warriors in the lead by two. In the fifth, the Warriors would extend the lead to three as Golankiewicz scored
Chris Goode on an RBI single. Monmouth however would score four runs in the sixth inning. The Warriors would tie the game back up in the seventh as
Frankie Ferrentino would a run on a double play. Monmouth would take the lead back in the bottom half of the seventh with a four run inning. Merrimack would score one more in the eighth on a fielding error, but the Warriors were unable to complete the comeback.
