Richmond VA-- The Merrimack College Warriors Baseball team was swept this week by the University of Richmond Spiders in a two-game set in Richmond Virginia.
Game 1:
Richmond: 13, Merrimack: 10
Richmond started the game with a two run first inning.
Michael Golankiewicz scored on a wild pitch to get the Warriors their first run in the second inning.
Christian Gemelli would double to left field and score another run for the Warriors in the 4
th inning. Richmond scored two more runs in the same inning taking the lead 4-2. The Spiders would score seven runs in the fifth inning. Heading into the sixth inning, the Warriors responded with five runs of their own lead by a single by Gemelli with doubles from
Matthew Chatelle and
Frankie Ferrentino with the Warriors down 11-7. Richmond would score a run between the seventh and eighth inning. Chatelle and a single from Bond got the Warriors to 13-10 but the Spiders closed out the game.

Game 2:
Richmond: 3, Merrimack: 2
In Game 2, Richmond jumped out to the lead in the second inning with two runs.
Alex Haba would score the first run for the Warriors with an RBI in the third inning. The Warriors would tie up the game with another run in the fourth with a run by
Christian Gemelli. The Spiders would break the tie in the seventh inning with a run scored to close out the game.
