Merrimack Women's Lacrosse Signs Emilia Doucette Though Team Impact

NORTH ANDOVER, M.A. – Merrimack College Women's Lacrosse head coach Jen Fox Sargent announced a new team member, signing 16-year-old Emilia Doucette through Team IMPACT.
 
Emilia, who was diagnosed with a mitochondrial disorder, was officially introduced at a signing day press conference on Saturday, April 22nd. She will participate in many activities with the women's lacrosse team including games, practices, and other team events.

Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.
 
"Team IMPACT is excited to see Emilia officially join the Warriors," said Danielle Hardee, Regional Director of Programs, Northeast at Team IMPACT. "We are proud to work alongside Merrimack College, their athletic department, and coaching staff to create lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes between student-athletes and their Team IMPACT teammates."
 
Merrimack College has worked with Team IMPACT for the past 12 years, matching 32 children across its baseball, men's and women's basketball, cheerleading, football, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's rugby, men's and women's soccer, softball, women's swimming, tennis, track and field, and volleyball teams.
 
"We couldn't be more thrilled to have Emilia join our Warrior family," said Fox Sargent. "She brings such joy and excitement to our team. We look forward to making more memories with her in the future"
