ALBANY, NY. – The Merrimack College men's lacrosse team lost to University of Albany on Sunday by a score of 13-11.

In the first minute of play, Albany struck first with a goal of their own. The Great Danes again scored a goal a couple of minutes later until
Drew Hailey scored a goal for the Warriors to make it 2-1. The Great Danes would score right after to make it 3-1 after the first period. Albany scored a goal three minutes into the second quarter.
Kasey Mongillo scored the next goal for the Warriors.
Drew Hailey had his second goal of the game to only be down by one point 4-3. The Great Danes would score two goals to close out the second period 6-3. Mongillo had his second goal of the game followed by a goal from
Jack Rooney to make the score 9-5.
Brian Russell scored a goal followed by
Carlin Joyal and a hat trick from Mongillo to make the score 9-8. The Great Danes scored a goal with 40 seconds left to end the third period. Rooney scored his second goal three minutes into the fourth period. Albany scored two goals right after but the Warriors continued to fight with a hat trick from Rooney and a second goal for Russell. The Great Danes would score right after to close out the game 13-11.
Notes and Numbers
Carlin Joyal had his first goal of the season.
Jack Rooney led the team in shots on goal with five.
Karl Sutter won seven face offs.
Up Next
The Warriors head back to Duane Stadium for a home game against Bryant University for Senior Day. Game time is set for 1pm.
