ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College baseball pitching staff threw the second no-hitter in program history on Wednesday afternoon in a 1-0 victory over the University of Maine.

James Borsari,
Damon Fuller,
Dawson Logie,
Michael Dragon, and
Jack Collins all had a hand in the bid for the Warriors.

● After a perfect first inning for the Warriors pitching staff,
Frankie Ferrentino singled with two outs in the bottom of the first, he was left on the base at the end of the inning. Merrimack pitching continued to roll in the second and third innings. Broderick would come into relive Hegan and picked up right where he started, getting the Black Bears in order in the fourth. He would so retire the side in order in the top half of the fifth.
Ben Nelson drew a walk in the bottom of the fifth with one out, but was left on first at the end of the inning. Borsari would come in during the sixth and retire the side, fanning one batter in the process. In the bottom half of the seventh,
Alex Haba would get hit by a pitch.
Braydon Dolbashian was the next batter up and he would double down the left field line, scoring Haba and giving the Warriors the first lead of the afternoon. Logie would come in the eighth and get Maine to go down in order. Collins would shut the door in the ninth and Merrimack would compete the sweep of the Black Bears with a no-hitter.
Notes and Numbers
● The no-hitter is the second of the Division I era for Merrimack College. The first was from Riley Sorenson on April 2nd against Sacred Heart. The Warriors would also win that game by one run.
● Collins earned his third save of the season.
