Women's Lacrosse Sees Three Players Earn All-NEC Honors

Somerset, NJ. — Three members of the Merrimack women's lacrosse team were acknowledged as some of the conference's best as Olivia Valdes and Kelly Corrigan were named to the All-Conference first team and Sophie Scearbo was named to the second team as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

Olivia Valdes was named as a part of the NEC All-Conference first team. Valdes, a graduate student midfielder from Tarrytown, NY had a stellar year for the Warriors, recording 34 goals including two five-goal performances, and 17 assists for 51 total points. She also averaged 3.19 points per game which was good enough for fifth overall in the conference.
 
Kelly Corrigan was named as a part of the NEC All-Conference first team. Valdes, a senior defender from North Andover, MA was the captain of the team this past season was a force on the defensive end forcing 25 turnovers and picking up 35 groundballs, she was also able to contribute on the offensive side, scoring twice and having seven assists this season.
 
Sophie Scearbo was named as a part of the NEC All-Conference second team. Scearbo, a senior midfielder from Southborough MA, had a solid year for the Warriors, recording 43 goals including a six goal performance against Fairleigh Dickinson on 4/22. She also notched five assists.
