ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College baseball team completed their sweep of Norfolk State University over the weekend with three wins in three days.

● The Spartans jumped out to a quick one-run lead in the first inning.
Alex Haba then got the Warriors on the board with a single that scored a runner from third. Later in the first
Braydon Dolbashian ripped a double that scored Haba, giving Merrimack a one-run lead. In the third, Haba singled to right, scoring
Scott Elliott who got a hit earlier in the inning. Later in the inning Haba scored on a bad throw by the Norfolk State catcher. Haba then singled again in the seventh, scoring Elliott and giving the Warriors a four-run victory.

● No runs were scored in the first. In the second inning
Christian Scanlon reached on a throwing error, scoring a runner from third. A batter later
Ben Nelson would then score after a wild pitch was thrown.
Stephen Santarpia singled in the second inning scoring Scanlon, giving the Warriors a three-run lead. The Spartans battled back scoring a run in the fourth, pulling within two. In the bottom half of the fourth the Warriors would get a run back after another wild pitch from a Norfolk State pitcher. The Spartans got a run back in the sixth to pull back within two runs. Scanlon would then launch a two-run home run to right, giving the Warriors a four-run win.

Cedric Gillette earned his fifth victory of the season after throwing seven innings, allowing just three hits while striking out eight batters.

Jack Collins got the save after throwing three and a third shutout innings allowing just one hit and striking out one.
