HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Merrimack College field hockey suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon to Hofstra University 8-0.

There was no score through the first quarter of play,
Chloe Agopian had the lone shot for the Warriors and it was blocked. The Pride struck first in the second quarter, taking a one-goal advantage.
Anne-Sophie Hogenboom had a shot for Merrimack that was saved in the 16th minute. Hofstra would go into halftime up by one.
Five minutes into the second half, the Pride added two goals to go up three. Hogenboom had a shot sail wide in the 35th minute. Hofstra added two more goals to go up five. Hogenboom had her third shot of the game in the 48th minute. The Pride found the back of the net twice in two minute to go up seven.
Ciara Ryan had a shot saved in the 58th minute. Hofstra added one more goal in the final minute to win the game by eight.

Hogenboom led the team with three shots, two were on goal.
Brooke Bolduc had two saves.
