BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team split its two matches on Saturday. Beating Saint Peter's University and losing to Duquesne University.

Both teams battled back and forth for the first 14 points. Saint Peter's then took a two point lead. A few points later the Warriors battled back, scoring four straight points to tie the set at 15. After a
Cate Wright kill, Merrimack was down just one. Saint Peter's would pull away, winning the first set by five.
The Warriors jumped out to a quick three point lead, off of two straight kills from
Julz Carlat. The Warriors would maintain the lead later in the set, finding themselves up nine. Saint Peter's battled back to pull within three. A kill by
Hannah Webber gave Merrimack a four-point advantage. The Warriors would tie the match, winning by five.
Merrimack went up four early on in the third set. Saint Peter's would tie the game at seven. The Warriors would then add five straight points to go up by four. Merrimack would finish the third set, scoring seven of the last 10 points to go up two sets to one.
Saint Peter's found themselves up by two early on in the fourth set. Kills from Webber and Carlat tied the set at seven. Later on in the set, Marilyn Whicavitch had a kill to tie the set at 10. After a back and forth battle, including Saint Peter's taking the lead by one, the Warriors would win the match after scoring the last three points of the set.

Merrimack jumped out to an early two point lead in set one. Later on in the set the Warriors found themselves down two. A kill from Carlat would pull them back within one. Duquesne would score six straight point to go up eight. They would end up winning the first set by nine.
Duquesne would jump out to an early seven-point advantage in set two. Merrimack would respond by scoring three points. Later on in the set Duquesne took a commanding lead 17-4. The Warriors would battle back to get the advantage down to nine, but would end of losing the set by 10.
Merrimack was up by three points in the third set. The squad then went up five later on. Duquesne came back to cut the lead down to one. A kill, followed by a service ace from Webber would put the Warriors up three. Duquesne would add five straight point late in the set to go up three. They would end up winning by four points.

Carlat would lead the team in kills with 32 on the day.
Mia Ardila would have 69 assists in the two matches on Saturday.

Merrimack will head to Connecticut for the UConn Invite. They will take on Lehigh University on Friday. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
