SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Merrimack College field hockey team lost a close battle with Bryant University on Friday night, losing 3-1.

Six minutes into the game, the Bulldogs scored their first goal taking an early lead. There was no scoring in the second quarter. Both
Meghan McCarthy and
Katelyn Bennett had shots that were saved by the Bryant goalkeeper. In the 37th minute,
Julie Wester found the back of the net for her second goal of the season. The game remained tied heading into the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored two goals in a minute to take a two goal advantage in the fourth quarter. Bryant would win the game by two.

Brooke Bolduc finished the game with eight saves.
Wester led the team with four shots, four of them on goal.
