IOWA CITY, IA– The Merrimack College field hockey team suffered a defeat against #1 University of Iowa on Sunday afternoon.

How It Happened
After no scoring in the first quarter, the Hawkeyes broke through in the first minute of the second quarter to go up by one. Five minute later, Iowa found the back of the net again to go up by a pair. In the 25
th minute the Hawkeyes scored their third tally of the quarter to head into halftime up three. Less then a minute into the second half Iowa scored to go up four. Two minutes later they scored again, going up five. The Hawkeyes would score three more times in the fourth quarter to win the game by eight.
