NORTH ANDOVER, MASS.– The Merrimack College field hockey team suffered a loss in its home opener on Friday afternoon to Rider University.

How It Happened
After no scoring in the first quarter, Rider finally broke through in the 22
nd minute to go up a goal.
Julie Wester had the first shot for Merrimack that was saved by the Rider goalie. In the 24
th minute
Katelyn Bennett found the back of the net to tie the game at one. Towards the end of the first half Rider scored to take a one goal lead into halftime. Rider would score once in the third and twice in the fourth to win the game by three.

- Brooke Bolduc made 10 saves in the loss.
- Bennett led the team in shots with two.
