Rapid Recap
The Warriors and Bison squared off for the second straight season. This one was a defensive battle out of the gate. It would be 11-10 after the first quarter with the Bison holding a narrow lead. Bucknell would then strike quickly going on a 7-0 run to start the second quarter before the Warriors continued to chip away including four three points from
Lydia Melaschenko who was unconscious from deep in the second frame. The Warriors would go into the half trailing by just three points. Seven points straight to start the second half would give the Warriors a lead that they would never end up relinquishing. Merrimack went on to go up by as much as 11 points after a
Claudia Gallegos layup to end the frame in the third. Merrimack held a sizable lead throughout a good portion of the fourth behind some key defensive stands from their young backcourt and a major paint presence from
Madison Roman. Down the stretch Bucknell came back into it but it would end up being the Warrior defense that held strong to help them prevail.
