Rapid Recap
The Warriors and Bulldogs squared off last year in an offensive explosion by both teams with the Warriors coming away with the win. This game would be a completely different story that would be won on the defensive end for this Merrimack bunch. The first quarter was all about the suffocating pressure from the Warriors in which Yale could not figure out. Merrimack held the Bulldogs to just seven points. In the second quarter the Yale offense woke up and was able to take a one-point lead going into the half. After a quick Bulldog run to start the second half, the Warriors we're able to gain their composure on both sides of the ball. A half court press was implemented by
Kelly Morrone in which the Bulldogs failed to break consistently. This would help the Warriors force 26 Yale turnovers. Down the stretch it would be the play of
Madison Roman who had two monster buckets down low to grab the lead late. From there, Merrimack did not look back as
Paloma Garcia knocked down two key free throws to put a cap on the game. The Warriors now improve to 3-2 with three consecutive wins.
