North Andover, Mass.- The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team were defeated by the Boston University Terriers by a score of
5-1 on Thursday night at Lawler Arena.
Merrimack (4-5-0, 2-4-0): 1, Boston University (9-3-1, 7-1-0): 5
After a fast start for both sides, Boston University broke through for the opening goal
at 9:55 of the first period before adding two more goals in the final three minutes of the frame to take a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.
In the second, relief goaltender
Calli Hogarth turned away all five Terrier shots in a quick, low-event period.
In the third frame, Boston University would add their fourth goal right before the halfway mark.
Sage Babey would break the shutout with a shot in close with just over five minutes to go, but the Terriers would score the final goal
at 18:21 of the third period.
