RICHMOND, VA – The Merrimack College Baseball team lost the final game of their series versus VCU.

Brayden Ryan made his first career start and second ever appearance in his short career with the Warriors.
Brayden Ryan was impeccable through his four innings pitched. He allowed just four base runners, none of which reached on a hit. He added three strikeouts and held the score at 2-0 Merrimack after the Warriors had scored two runs in the first inning.
Cavan Brady and
Frankie Ferrentino each drove in a run in the top of the first before scoring went dormant on both sides until the bottom of the fifth when the Rams scored five to put them ahead. VCU would add two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to make it a 7-2 disadvantage for the Warriors. Merrimack made things closer, scoring two runs in the 7th to make it 7-4. It would come down to the ninth inning for MC where the dramatics started.
Jacob Albert hit a single into left after an
Alex Haba double that scored the grad student. With two outs, Albert at first and
Cavan Brady at the dish with a 7-5 ball game, the Wheaton transfer hit an opposite field liner that fell just a few feet foul. Brady would end up getting tied up, ending the game 7-5 VCU.
