Rapid Recap
Merrimack came into this one looking to put the last three games in the rear view mirror and spoil a potential undefeated non conference schedule for the Bobcats. Quinnipiac got on the board first but it was a quick response from the Warriors when Trace Hogan put one in. The Bobcats would add three more in the first quarter with Merrimack scoring just once more off of a screamer from KJ Delane. The Warriors came out in the second quarter and put their foot on the gas pedal. They scored three unanswered goals from Brian Russell, Joey Ford III and Jack Kolbe all within four minutes of one another to take over the lead at 5-4. The Bobcats would then go on to score three straight of their own to close out the half and take over their lead at 7-5.

Quinnipiac would open up the second half by adding to their lead with a pair of goals to make it 9-5 and take over their largest advantage of the game. A scorcher from Kasey Mongillo put the Warriors a touch closer. Merrimack would then score two of the next three goals to make it a two score game going into the final frame. It would then be another perfect start to the quarter for Merrimack who would score back to back goals to knot it up at 10 erasing a four goal deficit. However QU would score four of the next five goals taking full control with under four minutes to play in the game. With the 14-11 lead the Bobcats slowed down the pace and milked the clock to give Merrimack their first home loss of the year.
