PROVIDENCE, RI – The Merrimack College men's lacrosse team lost their final non conference game of the season on the road to Providence.
Jack Kolbe scored three goals to lead the way for the Warriors in the loss.

Score: Merrimack 10, Providence 17

Merrimack was eager to put the past behind them and steal a road win to go into conference play on a high note. The Warriors would score the first two goals of the game from two of their veterans in
Brian Russell and
Jack Rooney. The Friars would then score the next three goals all within the first quarter. MC would close out the frame by tallying the next two. One coming from
Jack Rooney and another from the stick of
Kasey Mongillo.
Jack Kolbe would notch his first goal of the game to open the second quarter to make it a two score advantage for MC. It would then be four straight from Providence as they took the lead back at 7-5. Kolbe would score another to end the half as the Warriors trailed by one.
Providence would stuff home two more goals to gain their largest lead of the game at 9-6 to start the 3rd. Merrimack would strike three times in four minutes as
Mikey Kloepfer scored twice and
Brian Bouwman added another to tie the game up at nine.
Jack Kolbe ignited the fun in the fourth quarter as he sliced the Friar lead in half as it became an 11-10 ball game. The game was tight but the Merrimack attack went dormant. The Friars would pounce on them scoring the final six goals of the game to win it 17-11 sending the Warriors to 2-5 to close out non conference play.
